Capers Cafe, Southsea is a licensed daytime cafe set over 2 floors. The bustling ground floor has marble tables and French cafe chairs whilst the first floor has a more laid back feel. There are also tables outside for alfresco eating and drinking.
All food is prepared in Capers’ kitchen using only the best quality ingredients. The extensive menu offers dishes for breakfast and lunch as well as a daily specials board. Breakfasts range from continental breakfast to egg Benedict or full English breakfast. For lunch there is a great selection of filled baguettes, paninis and ciabattas as well as a range of salads such as New York Ceasar or warm chorizo and sunblush tomato salad. Baked potatoes come with a choice of fillings from West Country cheddar to salmon and prawns in sour cream and dill.
The specials board offers a choice of quiches, soup of the day and a daily main course dish which ranges from seared salmon on seafood risotto to grilled sirloin steak. The chef/proprietor bakes a great selection of cakes each day which are perfect for dessert or with coffee. The menu includes a number of options for vegetarian customers.
The drinks menu offers superb coffees, teas, organic bottled drinks, milkshakes and fruit smoothies. There is also a range of wine and bottled beers available.
